* brief description:Design of a housing complex on the Maasboulevard in Rotterdam, commissioned by Dura (1974-1976). More or less square blocks are joined together to form a V-shape. The blocks consist of a substructure with 8 to 14 layers above. In the middle of the V-shape a T-shaped pergola is planned with a shopping block at two ends, the remaining space is filled by parking spaces.
The first floor is slightly set back, where parking garages and bicycle parking are located. On the second floor there are apartments at the front and storerooms at the back. This floor extends so that the houses on the second floor have a large terrace. On the remaining floors, in the middle of each block, there is the staircase, elevator and hallway that provides access to 2-3 homes. All living rooms and some bedrooms have a small square balcony.
The floor plans of the dwellings vary, the blocks house different types of dwellings and sometimes the floor plans are adapted to the owner's wishes.
The facades are clad with prefabricated artificial stone facade slabs with "grenette" allowance (white). The window frames of the upper floors are of 'red dark meranti', the facades on the first floor have steel frames.
