Notes
General: The society was founded in 1927 by Merkelbach, Karsten, Van de Pauwert, Verschuyl, Van den Bosch and Groenewegen. Merkelbach was secretary and succeeded Duiker as president in 1934. In 1942 it was already proposed to dissolve the association. This did not happen. The activities of "The 8" after the war were mainly linked to the CIAM congresses and it was not until 1956 that the association was dissolved.
