* brief description:Renovation and refurbishment of the Amro-bank on Kneuterdijk in The Hague (1968-1972). The ground floor plan of the existing building is rectangular in shape. The plan of the four floors has a T-shape (two side wings at the front). The structure at the rear consists of a light court surrounded by office spaces. On the first floor, the location of the light court is enclosed by a mansard roof.
The remodeling of the bank building consists of adding elevators and rearranging the office spaces. In one of the initial designs for the remodel, walls are removed on the floors as much as possible to create an open work floor. In the final design, the office spaces are enlarged but there remains a separation between the different functions being performed. The light court is closed on the first and second floors, on the third floor a roof terrace is created.
The cladding of the rear facade is renewed: strips of windows are alternated with strips clad in aluminum. The windows are equipped with aluminum sliding windows.
