The archive, consisting almost entirely of drawings, was located in a large number of tubes. These tubes were partly provided with work numbers, partly with box numbers, partly with specification numbers and partly were not provided with any indication. The drawings with specification numbers all date from before the founding of the office in 1941 and belong to the archive of G.J.M. Sarlemijn. In 1948, a chronological work numbering system was introduced. Because the numbers were assigned upon acceptance of the commission, unrealized projects also received a work number. Appendix 6.1 contains a list of access numbers of unrealized works.About seven pieces were destroyed, in consultation with A. Evers and G.J.M. Sarlemijn. These are accounted for in the list of destroyed documents in Appendix 6.5
