After making the placement list of the archive, inventory work began in 2007. The material was divided into the following categories: 1. Personalia, 2. Education, 3. Office practice (Office general, Project files, Biographical data), 4. Committee work and ancillary activities, 5. Publications (Publications written by and about Verhoeven, Publications collected by Verhoeven), 6. Work of others, 7. Appendix (List of works).
Most of the projects do not have a work number, hence the choice was made to organize the project files by year. Within the project files, the drawings on a roll have not been described in more detail (whether it concerns a design drawing, specification drawing, etc.), for the other drawings this has been done as much as possible. The documents that were in the same folder or box before the inventory were packed together in one new cover as much as possible. As a result, both drawings and written documents from one project may have the same application number. Separation took place only when necessary for material reasons (such as photographs and slides). Rolled drawings are packaged as found in the tubes.
The application number of the models that are in the collection of The New Institute are included in the descriptions of the project files. The models are also retrievable through the object database. The other categories of this inventory are arranged by year where possible. The descriptions as stated on the folders and boxes have been adopted wherever possible.
