The Vorkink archive section was part of a larger archive contributed by Brouwer, which continued to include works by the architects Eibink, Snellebrand and Brouwer himself. Eibink had taken over the Vorkink firm after World War II. Vorkink had left (part of?) his archive with Eibink. These archives then came to Brouwer when he associated with Eibink. Since there appeared to be no direct relationship between Vorkink's work and that of the other three architects, the Vorkink part was removed from the Brouwer archive.

There is, however, a clear relationship between the work of Vorkink and Wormser, as the two architects worked together for about 20 years. This led to the merging of the archive part Vorkink, the archive part Wormser and the drawings collection of "'t Reigersnest." The two archive parts were first arranged chronologically and classified according to the NDB system now in force.

The archive section Wormser, which was already globally inventoried on the NDB, had to be rearranged here and there to get the correct chronology. As already mentioned, many construction drawings from the archive section Vorkink were already numbered and drawing lists were present. The inventory refers to these lists, which are included in an appendix. When arranging numbered drawings, this numbering, although not always chronological, has been adhered to. Where numbering is missing, chronology has been adhered to. Some unnumbered and/or undated drawings have been fitted into the numbering or chronology because of subject matter and/or dating.

When inventorying the correspondence of the Vorkink archive, it proved too complicated to distinguish between section 1.0 and 2.1. It was therefore decided to drop section 1.0 and place all the correspondence of the Vorkink archive in 2.1. I have kept this order; however, some material has been moved here and there, in order to get a chronological order.

Within the various headings, first the work of Vorkink and Wormser together, then the work of Wormser and then that of Vorkink has been arranged.

No concordance of the archives has been made, since, as may be seen from the previous chapter, there is a clear distinction between the work from the two archives and the drawings collection. Applications: When requesting, always state the category number first and then inventory number, e.g. 2.0.25.
