Hendrik Petrus Berlage : the complete works
Berlage designed five complexes; Tolstraat, Transvaalbuurt, Spreeuwenpark, Nieuwe Tolstraat and Staatsliedenbuurt. The latter two were eventually executed to the design of J.C. van Epen, although Berlage's influence remains clearly visible. Tolstraat is described in detail, but it remains unclear exactly which part is meant. The various floor plan types are discussed as well as the mirroring of the types. No drawings of the Tolstraat/Nieuwe Tolstraat have survived in Berlage's archives. In addition, Spreeuwenpark and Staatsliedenbuurt are discussed. The article also includes a rendering of the AWV's main housing types, floor plans for high-rise and low-rise buildings. Hotel Nassau-Bergen, the Tolstraat, the Dr. Schaepmanstraat and the Spreeuwenpark are additionally discussed separately.J.C. van Epen and H.P.
