A description of the monuments is given for each place in the province of South Holland. In the case of The Hague, among other things, it is indicated that J. de Greef, with the cooperation of the architect A. Noordendorp, rebuilt the interior of the Kneuterdijk Palace, which was built in 1716 by D. Marot for the Lords of Wassenaer-Obdam. This was done after the palace was designated as a residence for the crown prince (Willem II) in 1816. The interior received empire furnishings and new rooms, such as the ballroom. During this renovation, a floor was also added and the open dome on the roof was removed. The Pavilion von Wied at Scheveningen, built in 1826-'27 to the design of A. Near Schiedam, the R.C. St. John the Baptist is mentioned. This church was built from 1822 to 1824 to a design by A. Tollus. At 's Gravenzande, the Reformed Church is discussed. Of the old church, the tower collapsed in 1809 which also severely damaged the church itself. The present church was built in 1815-'16 (architect A. Tollus) with financial support from King Willem I. The originally octagonal church was enlarged into a rectangular space in 1850 while retaining three sides of the octagon.
