It is mentioned about Liem himself that he mainly, together with Job & Sprey designed the larger villas and houses in the Kebayoran district. Also that as one of the architectural firms of the Dutch era, he was one of the first designated for new commissions. In addition, it is mentioned on page 100 that in 1959 the young architects Kwee Hin Goan and Sujudi, together with their longer established colleague Liem Bwan Tjie, founded the Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (IAI, "Union of Indonesian Architects")
