Increasingly, video art can be seen outside the walls of art institutions in public spaces. Artists infiltrate advertising screens on the street, project moving images on facades or enter into far-reaching collaborations with architects. In unexpected places, video art shakes up the casual passerby or, on the contrary, flows smoothly into the streetscape. The images criticize advertising in the city, emphasize the aesthetics of the built environment or make disturbed power relations on the street visible. Without exception, the video works enter into a relationship with architecture and the immediate environment.
