Research into which population developments in inner city neighborhoods can be called autonomous, and with which neighborhood characteristics these autonomous developments are related. The research was conducted in the municipalities of Leeuwarden, Leiden and Maastricht. Attention is paid to the connection between population characteristics and neighborhood characteristics, urban renewal policy and population developments and policy.
