The IM Masters program of the Design Academy Eindhoven, focused on conceptual design in context, decided that this has to change. During four study periods, students examined the problems we face in the 21st century and the role designers can play in seeking alternatives. Guided by teachers and visiting lecturers, they researched materials and production techniques and formulated visions on beauty and ethical design. Timeless Necessity is both ethics and aesthetics.
