In "Gardens of Experience," Canadian-British architect Adam Caruso addresses the problem of how to define architectural quality when values disappear. When certainties disappeared in art, new themes of feeling and experience were emphasized. Caruso wonders if, on this basis, a contemporary architecture can also be redefined in which artistic authority and cultural relevance are central.
