Cornelissen has become known for his monumental, architectural drawings, which he has been making since the early 1990s. In the detailed pencil drawings of libraries, waiting rooms, factory halls, circuses and shopping centers, he plays with transitions and connections of interior and exterior space. The large format of the drawings, sometimes up to four feet wide, almost invites the viewer to "enter" the work. The large format of the book makes the monumental context of the works palpable and provides space for the fascinating details.
