Marcel Wanders : pinned-up : 25 years of design

Marcel Wanders is one of the most creative, high-profile and successful designers of recent decades. For 25 years, Marcel Wanders has been shaping his own dreams - and those of others. With products and furniture, with interiors and art direction, and recently also with architectural designs and with autonomous, visual work. This richly illustrated publication Marcel wanders Pinned Up offers an overview of 25 years of Wanders' designs. The book exposes his motivations and sources of inspiration, provides historical and theoretical context to his much-discussed work, and illustrates the production process of a number of groundbreaking projects, with texts by renowned authors in the field of industrial and interior design. The many illustrations, extensive oeuvre list, bibliography and curriculum vitae also make this publication a valuable reference work. This exhibition features designs from Marcel Wanders' entire oeuvre, covering the period from the late 1980s to the present. More than 400 objects will be on display in the monumental underground space in the Stedelijk's new wing, including furniture, lamps, appliances, cutlery, wallpaper, packaging and jewelry. Also on view will be photographs of interiors, as well as design drawings, prototypes, small-run experimental work, sculptural objects developed for special projects and "virtual interiors" created as free work on the computer.
