Created in Holland : a presentation of 13 Dutch designers during 100% Design Tokyo 2008

13 young design studios will present their work at the international trade fair 100% DESIGN TOKYO. The Asian platform to meet the relevant industry. This presentation is initiated by Premsela, the Dutch platform for design and fashion, and organised by Tuttobene in collaboration with the NBTC (The Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions), BNO (Association of Dutch Designers) and the Dutch Embassy in Tokyo. The presentation Created in Holland 08 is commissioned by the EVD, the Dutch Agency for International Business and Cooperation. The presented designers are selected for participation based on the sustainable grounds and the high quality, but also the economic potential and innovative qualities of their work. Tuttobene is an organisation that promotes designers internationally and stimulates socially and ecologically sustainable design. For the last 5 years they successfully presented over 150 individual designers during the Salone in Milan. A magazine Created in Holland will be published and handed out to all visitors of the presentation. In the publication the focus is on the creating process of design and the differences and similarities between Dutch and Japanese designers, which have been influencing each other for over 400 years. You find the designs from the participating designers, various articles and columns, a guide with interesting places in the Netherlands for design-loving Japanese travellers. The magazine is designed by Lesley Moore, who are known through their challenging graphics of MARK magazine. The booth is designed by Laurens van Wieringen who was inspired by the concept of market-place with a dynamic but coherent design as a result.
