The islands of Malta and Gozo are increasingly experiencing drought and heat; farmers are living in increasingly impoverished conditions. The Fringefarm (Randerij) concept aims to revitalize life on the islands by restoring biodiversity and the growth of biomass to sequester CO2 and water. With new earning models in natural agriculture and nature recreation, work is being done towards this greening. A more independent position in relation to the world market is being created for farmers, and an entrepreneurial climate in these green edges is also being created for other citizens.
