Almost all architecture is commissioned by a builder, and the architect will have to take into account his wishes or requirements. The situation becomes completely different when the architect builds, remodels or furnishes his own home. At that point, an architect's home becomes a kind of business card. This book contains 16 such business cards. Sixteen comprehensive reports of lofts, apartments or houses in which leading Dutch architects such as Herman Herzberger, Gunnar Daan, Felix Claus and others live themselves. Each reportage is accompanied by a text in which the architect speaks and clarifies his vision of architecture.
