De Stijl 100 years of inspiration : the New Beelding and international art 1917-2017
De Stijl is a Dutch art movement named after the magazine De Stijl, founded in Leiden in 1917. The main members of De Stijl were Theo van Doesburg, Piet Mondrian, Vilmos Huszár, Bart van der Leck, J.J.P. Oud, Jan Wils, Robert van 't Hoff, Gerrit Rietveld and Georges Vantongerloo. In summary, the literature on De Stijl and its artists speaks of great influence, but has never taken it as the central theme for a book. The centennial of De Stijl in 2017 therefore provided a good entry point to write about the influence and inspiration of De Stijl for a wide audience.
