The book Transformation Strijp-S written by Thom Aussems and Hans Horsten shows the history of Philips' largest industrial site (27 hectares) in Eindhoven. The site was home to the first glass factory. The NatLab, Philips' much-renowned research center, was also located on the site. Tens of thousands worked there and felt connected to the area along the railroad line. They were proud of buildings such as the Hoge Rug, the NatLab and the Klokgebouw, and of the special products made there for ninety years.
