Rutgers designs expansion of Americanhotel. Completion scheduled for Olympics 1928. Construction begins 1927. Completion eventually 1929. Rutgers also designs furniture. Jan Eisenloeffels arts and crafts studio designs lamps made of glass from Bohemia instead of Leerdam. Interior of the extension is of rosewood, mahogany, walnut and birch.
