The Dutch pavilion at Expo 67
Date published 10-12-1965. This article was written on the occasion of the start of construction of the Dutch pavilion for Expo 67 in Montreal Canada. The pavilion (photo maquette, site plan, floor plans, cross-sections) was designed by Eijkelenboom and Middelhoek Architects in collaboration with a Canadian co-architect George F. Eber. The article describes the building's layout and construction, using an external space frame of aluminum or galvanized steel to support spaces conceived as boxes. Vancouver-based consulting firm CBA Engineering will act as construction consultant, and the exhibition design will be provided by Joop Geesink's Artists and interior designer Kor Aldershoff. The garden will be landscaped by landscaper Emil Vandermeulen of Sasaki,Strong in Toronto. The contractor is Argo Construction of Montreal and the space frame will be provided by construction company Fentiman of Ottawa.
