Oosthout describes the great success of the cultural center 'de Lindenberg' in Nijmegen since it has been in operation since 1972 (photos interior). The article describes the growth in the number of members and/or students of the three cultural institutions that formed the basis of the project, i.e.: the Openbare Leeszaal en Boekerij, the Nijmeegse Vrije Academie and the Nijmeegse Muziekschool, and the major role that the center already plays in Nijmegen's cultural life.
