Vrijenhoek +< br> Michiel [sic; should be Machiel] Vrijenhoek, architect and former alderman of Urban Development and Housing of the Hague, passed away in The Hague on March 19, this year at the age of 62.To study public housing and urban development, he attended almost all the important conferences on this subject organized abroad.< br> After attending the Academy of Visual Arts and Technical Sciences in Rotterdam, then the Academy of Drawing in The Hague, he worked for several years at various architectural offices. In 1919, Mr. Vrijenhoek became a member of the city council in The Hague and has been re-elected ever since.< br> In 1923, when the municipal companies came under his management, he was put in charge of Urban Development and Public Housing in which his interests included the construction of sports grounds and the realization of exhibition buildings.
