What can designers do for a city center without a shopping center? Nearly fifty design teams came up with a bold idea to make Geleen's city center livable again. Geleen struggles with a thirty percent retail vacancy rate. The teams DTNP and New Urban Networks were selected and worked out their idea. On June 28, State Secretary Mona Keijzer (EZK) accepted the publication of the result. The call is an initiative of the Professional Association of Dutch Urban Designers and Planners (BNSP) and is issued for various locations under the motto "The residential district as a novelty.
