A three-part documentary series "The Garden Villages in Amsterdam-North. Between 1918 and 1923, three garden villages were built by the Municipal Housing Service in Amsterdam-North. Vogeldorp (1918), Disteldorp (1918) and Tuindorp Oostzaan (1923) were intended for working-class families who, due to the great housing shortage in the city, did not have their own homes but were so-called residents. In this three-part series, the oldest residents tell how quickly they felt at home - even though their families thought they were going to emigrate, that's how far they thought the villages were from the city.
