On April 25, 2013, the digitized archive of the BNO was festively presented at the Rijksdienst voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie (RKD) in The Hague. All still available documents produced by the professional association Graphic Designers NEderland, the bNO, KIO, KIO Branche, NIC, BVV and BNO until 2004 have been inventoried and partly digitally unlocked. This archive provides a penetrating picture of the history of the organized professional field of designers from 1969 to 2004. Linking the presentation at the RKD to Rob Huisman's farewell as director of the BNO was an idea of his own. He wanted something tangible from the history of the organized field and also to leave his own history as a digital footprint. He was the face of the BNO for 26 years and 7 months and not only kept the organization on course, but also gave it clear direction. Directors came and went, but a factor of significance and stability is still the office of the association, which Rob Huisman led with great pleasure and insight for so long.
