On the occasion of the architecture year, the Friends of the NAI took the initiative to give a gift to the city: together with various parties involved in the building process, as many Rotterdam buildings as possible were given an NAI architecture plaque. These are existing buildings, but also structures that are still under construction. Altogether, 243 buildings in Rotterdam now bear a plaque and at least 75 more will follow. This makes Rotterdam the first Plaquette City in the Netherlands. All buildings with plaques are bundled in this book 'Rotterdam Plaquettestad 2007'. A historical and informative document about Rotterdam architecture. This volume was presented on June 24, 2008 to Alderman Hamit Karakus, who in turn passed the baton to Gert Jan 't Hart, Alderman of the Municipality of Spijkenisse.
