The Chinati Foundation is one of the world's most prominent institutions of contemporary art. The foundation was founded by the American artist Donald Judd (1928-1994), whose unique ambition was to exhibit and maintain selected permanent installations that were meant to be inextricably bound to the surrounding landscape.
