Eckhart. Each booklet is devoted to a specific location to which the firm of C.H. Eckhart has contributed in one or more of its competencies: design and/or production and/or installation of mirrors, furniture, wall, chimney and ceiling paneling, curtains, carpets, tablecloths, hardware, chandeliers, that is, of everything that, individually or together, contributes to the decoration of an interior. This booklet is about the contributions of decoration painter Jakob Smits and the firm C.H. Eckhart to the expansion and renovation of Teylers Museum in the period 1884-1888. Jakob Smits made several sketches and design drawings in 1884 for the decoration of the New Entrance on the Spaarne and in 1885 of the ceiling of the Watercolors Room, the current Print Room. The firm of C.H. Eckhart furnished the Watercolor Hall in 1886 and the Numismatic Cabinet in 1887-1888.
