Landscape architect Samuel Voorhoeve championed the preservation of "natural landscape beauty. This vision was expressed in all his designs for estates, parks and gardens, as well as in the decoration of villa parks, avenues and squares. In his work, he considered it his task to fit cultural lines into the natural landscape that was already there. Many landscapes designed by Voorhoeve can still be experienced in the state as the landscape architect once intended.
