One of three blue pillows on the sofa in the studio of Sonneveld House. The blue color is by painter Bart van der Leck. The fabric was supplied in 1933 by Metz & Co, in Wool repp, "a strong wool rib fabric for furniture upholstery. Fabric traces found under several other upholstery fabrics of this sofa confirm that this is a cornflower blue, rough ribbed fabric, with thin cotton warp threads and thick wool weft threads that gave the fabric a rough appearance. The cushions were reupholstered in "blue peach" when House Sonneveld was reconstructed in 2011, as Wool repp is no longer made as a fabric type. House Sonneveld was completed in 1933 and was built for the Sonneveld family to a design by the architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt. They were also responsible for the interior, working closely with W.H. Gispen.
