Black lacquered wooden cutlery drawer with recessed matte aluminum handle and black velour interior with recesses for various cutlery manufactured by J.H. van den Broek. The cutlery drawers were made for a sideboard in the Sonneveld family's apartment at Schiedamsevest 140-142 in Rotterdam, where they lived from 1955. The drawers were shortened and made to fit the reconstructed dining room cabinet in Sonneveld's house on Jongkindstraat. This house was completed in 1933 and was built for the Sonneveld family to a design by the architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt. They were also responsible for the interior, working closely with W.H. Gispen.
