Chair (Gispen Model 101)

Suspended chair, without back legs, (Gispen model 101) of chrome-plated tubular steel, without armrests with plywood back to the design of W.H. Gispen. The seat of the chair has a brown anthracite color upholstery with modern foam plastic padding. The chair was reupholstered in 2001, the backrest with a red coarsely woven (wool?) fabric, however not original. The chair is in the linen room of Sonneveld House. The house was completed in 1933 and was built for the Sonneveld family to a design by the architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt. They were also responsible for the interior, working closely with W.H. Gispen.
