Two-Seater Sofa

Bench with two cushions and a base in chromed metal with a canvas seat to the design of L.C. van der Vlugt, executed by the firm Allan, carriage factory on the Kleiweg in Rotterdam. The color scheme of the cushions is by B. van der Leck. The fabric was supplied by Metz & Co. The bench stood in the hall of Sonneveld House. Because of its fragility, the sofa was replaced by a remake and is kept in the depot of The New Institute. The house was completed in 1933 and was built for the Sonneveld family to a design by the architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt. They were also responsible for the interior, working closely with W.H. Gispen.
