One of the somewhat wider dining chairs in Sonneveld House. In the dining room of Sonneveld House is the original Gispen dining table with accompanying six dining chairs, two of which are somewhat wider. The table and chairs were selected from the Gispen furniture catalog no.52 and then adapted by the designer to the specific wishes of the Sonnevelds. The dining chair is a back-legged tubular steel chair, based on the Gispen model 201. The backrest has a different, rounded shape. They are reupholstered with a black manchester fabric (Peach cloth B.H.890). House Sonneveld was completed in 1933 and was built for the Sonneveld family to a design by the architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt. They were also responsible for the interior, working closely with W.H. Gispen.
