Chrome-plated, tubular steel office chair (Gispen model 355) with a round seat and adjustable back. The base is a standard four-column base. The office chair is in the studio of the daughters of the Sonneveld family. The upholstery is light blue. The original fabric was a Sunfirm peach cloth, a luxurious ruffled cotton, better known as peau de peche. The fabric was supplied by the firm Metz & Co. Artist Bart van der Leck, appointed color consultant by Metz & Co, had also composed this color. The accent colors he applied were the pastel version of De Stijl colors typical of Van der Leck. A cornflower blue color was chosen for this office chair. House Sonneveld was completed in 1933 and was built for the Sonneveld family to a design by the architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt. They were also responsible for the interior, working closely with W.H. Gispen.
