Pendant lamp (model Gispen no. 202). This specimen is composed of parts of two lamps. It is a sliding chamber lamp with a shade of soft yellow shantung silk, white lined. The bulb is hidden from view by an open balloon of Giso glass that also regularly illuminates the ceiling. The lamp hangs above the dining table in Sonneveld House. House Sonneveld was completed in 1933 and was built for the Sonneveld family to a design by the architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt. They were also responsible for the interior, working closely with W.H. Gispen.
