Armchair (Gispen model 407) with tubular steel frame and bakelite armrests. The armchair is in the master bedroom of Sonneveld House and was reupholstered in 2001. It originally had a yellow upholstery of Wool Repp B.H.1211. All fabrics, floor coverings and rugs were chosen from the assortment of the Metz & Co. firm. They were chosen both from just-released sample books from Metz, for which the artist Bart van der Leck had determined a color range, and also from sample books where this was not the case. The accent colors he applied are the pastel version of De Stijl colors typical of Van der Leck. The color number B.H. 1211 did not match the two shades of yellow found in the sample booklet of Metz & Co, so an approximate yellow had to be sought in the reconstruction. House Sonneveld was completed in 1933 and was built for the Sonneveld family to a design by the architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt. They were also responsible for the interior, working closely with W.H. Gispen.
