Office chair (Gispen model 355) with tubular steel frame and vermilion red fabric upholstery. The chair is in the daughters' studio in the Sonneveld home. It is a swivel and height-adjustable office chair with a round seat and adjustable back. The base is a standard four-column base. The frame is chrome plated. The original fabric was a Sunfirm peach cloth, a luxurious ruched cotton, better known as peau de pêche. The fabric was supplied by the firm Metz & Co. Artist Bart van der Leck, appointed color consultant by Metz & Co, had also composed this color. The accent colors he applied were the pastel version of De Stijl colors typical of Van der Leck. House Sonneveld was completed in 1933 and was built for the Sonneveld family to a design by the architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt. They were also responsible for the interior, working closely with W.H. Gispen.
