Ceiling light (GISO 814; variant)
Original ceiling light (Giso 814 unica: variant) with opal glass shade in chromed metal rim. The lamp hangs in the hallway on the second floor of Sonneveld House. The glass shade has the shape of a half cylinder. The lamp was still in the house in 2001. Officially, 814 is a majolica ceiling lamp, but this version has a chrome rim, a variant that does not appear in the catalogs. House Sonneveld was completed in 1933 and was built for the Sonneveld family to a design by the architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt. They were also responsible for the interior, working closely with W.H. Gispen.
