Replica of the sofa in the sitting room of the Sonneveld House, designed by L.C. van der Vlugt in 1933. The design by the firm Allan & Co of Rotterdam. The upholstery was an epinglé fabric, BD 6171. The replica was made based on Van der Vlugt's design drawings. The sofa has a high-gloss chrome-plated tubular steel frame, with three loose cushions with a blended beige upholstery fabric. The seat is authentically constructed; with coil springs and covered with padding, jute, wadding, cover and upholstery. On top of this are three separate cushions filled with fowl feathers. The armrests are removable. House Sonneveld was completed in 1933 and was built for the Sonneveld family to a design by the architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt. They were also responsible for the interior, working closely with W.H. Gispen.
