Replica ladies armchair (Gispen model 407) by the fireplace in Sonneveld House. This is a low, sprung and back legless armchair with Gisolite armrests, The original chair was upholstered in a fabric from the assortment of the firm Metz & Co. It was chosen from the sample booklets just released by Metz & Co, for which the artist Bart van der Leck had determined a color range. For the chairs by the fireplace, Peach cloth was chosen, a luxurious brushed cotton, better known as peau de pêche, vermilion red. House Sonneveld was completed in 1933 and was built for the Sonneveld family to a design by the architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt. They were also responsible for the interior, working closely with W.H. Gispen.
