This official residence also consists of two separate parts, a representative part and a residential part. The residence was built on a particularly spacious site of more than four thousand square feet. An L-shaped one-story floor plan was chosen, which is hidden from view at the front by a long wall constructed of Mongolian granite. The rear façade consists mostly of glass, providing a good view of the garden. The representative part, where the receptions take place, has a wide overhanging roof, which serves as an awning and canopy. Both building parts are connected by a winter garden. In addition to the building's understated and clear design, Postel says its realization is remarkable: it is, in fact, "the first freestanding residence not designed under Chinese state architecture and in which the architecture expresses the country of origin.
