Chair with coloring by V. Huszár

Chair constructed by pan-and-hole joints from stiles and rails of rectangular cross-section. The seat consists of a board covered with black oilcloth. This chair shows great similarity to a chair from the interior of Henri Berssenbrugge's photo studio in The Hague. This extension of the house, including the interior, was conceived by Wils in 1921 in collaboration with Vilmos Huszár. In the interiuer, architecture, color planes and furniture pieces were carefully coordinated to create a "loose and light space. The chair in the photo of the interior has a black frame and a light seat; in the one in the collection, this color scheme is reversed. Also, the rungs between the legs appear to be lower in relation to the seat.
