Born Oct. 18, 1892, in Osnabrück. Worked for Karl Schneider, Josef Frank, Adolf Loos, among others. In 1938 he settled in the US. From 1955 in Toronto, Canada, where he is head of the Department of Urban Planning. From 1961 Professor of Urban Planning at the University of Toronto. Died January 30, 1988 in Toronto.
