Itten, Johannes
In Bern he takes a teacher training course and studies art in Geneva. From 1913-1916 he studies as a painter with Adolf Hölzel in Stuttgart. Itten has his own Kunstschule in Vienna from 1916 to 1919. In 1926-1934 he again has his own Kunstschule (Itten-Schule) but this time in Berlin. Johannes is a master at Bauhaus in Weimar for Vorkurs and Werkstätten from 1919-1923. He was director of several institutions in the years 1938-1960 including the Textilfachschule in Zurich from 1943-1960.
