Carl August Friedrich Ferdinand Kramer was born 22.01.1898 in Frankfurt a/Main. Died 04.11.1985 there. Education at TH Munich 1919-1922 under Theodor Fischer. In 1919 contact with Bauhaus Weimar. 1922-1933 member of the Deutsche Werkbund.
1925-1930 employed at the Hochbauamt Frankfurt/M (Ernst May). From 1930 independent architect. From 1933-1947 in the United States.
Settles again in Frankfurt/M. From 1952-1964 Baudirektor of the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe-Universität.
