Born 25.06.1933 in Matosinhos under the name Alvaro Joaquim de Melo Siza Vieira. Educated at the School of Architecture of the University of Oporto, under Fernando Tavora.
Own practice from 1954 in Oporto. Collaboration with Tavora from 1955 to 1958. Professor of Architecture at the University of Oporto since 1965.
