A.P. van Rood-Van Rijswijk (1904-1960) Adriana Petronella van Rood-van Rijswijk's responsibilities included the expansion of Hoogovens' laboratory in Velsen (1951-1952), originally designed by A.H. van Rood (1885-1947). Van Rood-van Rijswijk was the wife of architect Van Rood, who worked for several electricity companies and for Hoogovens. During World War II, the couple fled to England. In the archives of the Ministry of Justice in London there is a registration of property attributed to both of them. After World War II, they returned to the Netherlands. The activities of the architectural firm of Van Rood-van Rijswijk were continued from 1960 by the also Wassenaar firm of Robert Louis de Vries (1924-1986).
